Sasha Colette & the Magnolias
“If you came to their live show or listened to her record, you already know the soul of this rising Huntington, WV band, Sasha Colette and The Magnolias. Sasha Colette, an Olive Hill, KY native, writes, and sings, joined by Brother Jeremy Short, a daring stuntman and melody maker on all 6 string devices, Cousin Chris Justice on bass and stoic resolve, and Deacon Steve Barker on drums and cautious enthusiasm. Together they have recorded their first EP “Ridin’ Away” available on iTunes. Sasha Colette and The Magnolias prefer to not use buzz words and abstract descriptions to get their point across. They won’t allow themselves to be described as “Gonzo Americana” or “Upscale Country Dance Party” They let their recordings and live shows speak for themselves. Recently featured at the 2012 Appalachian Uprising Festival, Colette has opened for acts as diverse as The David Mayfield Parade and Steve Forbert. “
“On the surface, Sasha Colette may appear to be an innocent country girl with a pretty voice. Her newest release—with the magnificent Magnolias backing her up—signals that it’s high time we start taking this young lady and her band very seriously.” -WV Rockscene “
